Erling Haalands Historic Scoring Run for Norway

Going to the San Siro and delivering on the biggest stage, Erling Haaland once again proved why he stands at the very top of world football. The Norwegian striker scored twice in quick succession as Norway stunned Italy with a dominant four one win, sealing their first World Cup qualification in 28 years. His performance capped off an extraordinary qualifying campaign in which he scored 16 goals in just eight matches, the highest tally across Europe and double that of the next best scorers. 

Haaland’s consistency has reached almost surreal levels. He has now scored in 11 consecutive internationals, a run that began after a friendly defeat to Austria in October 2024. Since then, he has netted 21 goals and averaged one every 44 minutes for Norway, a rate unmatched in the modern game. At only 25, he already has 55 international goals to his name, placing him level with Romario and Kylian Mbappe, despite Mbappe having played 36 more matches.
